From WikiApiary, monitoring the MediaWiki universe
Welcome to WikiApiary
It is nice to see you around and welcome to WikiApiary, a wiki that collects, displays and analyzes information about the usage and performance of MediaWiki websites. Thank you for registering! WikiApiary is a great place to see what other wikis are doing, which extensions they use and much more. Start your discovery tour and browse through the sites listed, explore what they are all about and get some inspiration.
Please add your website to WikiApiary to see important information about it at a glance, e.g. editing activity, etc.. In the future WikiApiary will be sending out notifications that will greatly help wiki administrators and editors keep an eye on their sites. You can register for them while adding your website.
You can show the world your site is monitored and share your support for WikiApiary by adding the Monitored by WikiApiary icon to your wiki footer!
- Yeah, this is a late welcome, but rather late than never. ;) --[[kgh]] (talk) 10:57, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
Jeroen, I get all excited that someone else is trying to add a site. :-) Just an FYI, you may find WikiApiary:Bookmarklet handy to have in your browser bookmark bar if you want to add wikis you stumble across. Thingles (talk) 02:33, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
Integrate WikiApiary into SMWRegistry?
Jeroen, I saw that you just opened up SMWRegistry on Github. I poked at the code and was considering forking it and adding the ability to syndicate site registrations to WikiApiary. Before I hack on that though, I'm wondering if that is something that would be welcome? What I envision doing is assigning a SMWRegistry bot account that would have stored credentials in the SMWRegistry so new registrations would just flow through in realtime. Thoughts? 🐝 thingles (talk) 02:41, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- The SMWRegisrty code has serious issues, and I'd like to throw it off SMW wiki. I recommend against trying to improve the code, starting from scratch is a much more worthwhile effort. Having sites registered here as well would be nice. Perhaps if this happens, the old registration mechanism can be ditched altogether. The browsing interface for it is rather terrible (mostly non-existent). If you hand me some nice small chunk of code that replaces the current pile of fail, while retaining the important functionality, I'd be happy to put that on SMW wiki. Presumably I can then provide you with a dump of the already registered sites, so you can all import them here. Before the current thing is ditched, Markus needs to be poked though. I doubt he'd object, but it is sort of his project (or at least of a student of his), so it's good to ask regardless. --Jeroen De Dauw (talk) 14:07, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
